Ann M, Khalsa, MD, MSEd, currently serves as Director of AIDS Training at the Texas/Oklahoma AIDS Education and Training Center at the Centro de Salud Familiar La Fe C.A.R.E. HIV/AIDS Center in El Paso, Texas. She also serves as Associate Medical Director and Clinical Director of Family Planning at the Center, providing care to over 500 patients.
A certified AIDS specialist through the American Academy of HIV Medicine, Dr. Khalsa recently served as Associate Professor of Clinical Family Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles. She also served as the Director of Clinical AIDS Training for the Pacific AIDS Education and Training Center at USC. During that time, she cared for over 1,000 patients at the LA County Rand Schrader and Maternal-Child AIDS clinics and trained 1,000-plus local and international physicians in the care of HIV patients.
Dr. Khalsa obtained her medical degree from USC, did her residency training at San Bernardino County Medical Center, and holds master’s degrees in Biochemistry and Medical Education. She completed a Fellowship in Leadership Development at USC.
Dr. Khalsa currently serves on the American Academy of HIV Medicine’s (AAHIVM) Core Curriculum and Study Guide committees. She is a recipient of the Mead Johnson Award for Graduate Education in Family Practice from the American Academy of Family Physicians. She is a Fellow with the American Academy of Family Physicians and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
